Rays Home Run Club for Foster Children to be Rededicated

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-The Rays Baseball Foundation, along with Eckerd and the Heart Gallery of Pinellas and Pasco, will host a Rededication Ceremony for the Home Run Club suite at Tropicana Field on June 19, 2014.

The Rays, Eckerd and the Heart Gallery are in the fifth year of their partnership to provide the Home Run Club to foster children in Tampa Bay. The Home Run Club, formerly the Big Game James Club, is a specially designed, kid-friendly suite donated by the Rays for use by foster children and their families throughout the baseball season. The goal of the Home Run Club is to provide children in foster care, in need of a sense of belonging and stability, a memorable experience. The suite is also used to host special adoption match events in which children available and ready for adoption spend time with families trained, prepared and ready for adoption. This season, the Rays doubled the size of the suite, allowing nearly 100 children to participate in Club activities.
