After a review that lasted one minute and 43 seconds, the call on the field stood.
"At that point, why would you not [challenge]?" Maddon said after his club closed out its second one-run victory of the day. "It's that close. We were kind of in that ambivalent mode. We had no idea what was going to happen.
"It was one of those situations that you see a lot of -- that we're learning -- is that a call in the field is going to stand pretty much when there's nothing conclusive. Maddon has had 10 challenges on the season, three have been overturned, four have stood, and three have been confirmed.
