Rays send Glaesmann to Arizona to complete trade

ST. PETERSBURG -- Minor League outfielder Todd Glaesmann has been traded to the D-backs as the player to be named in the three-way trade that saw the Rays acquire right-hander Heath Bell from Arizona and catcher Ryan Hanigan from Cincinnati.

The Rays selected Glaesmann in the third round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft out of Midway (Texas) High School. In 2012, he was named the Rays Minor League Player of the Year.

Glaesmann, 23, hit .240 with 11 home runs and 54 RBIs in 132 games for Double-A Montgomery in 2013.

Glaesmann completes the Dec. 3 trade that also saw the Rays send Minor League right-hander Justin Choate to the D-backs. The Reds received left-hander David Holmberg from the D-backs in the deal.
