"All of us at the Rays have been excited by the way the team has performed and the way our fans have responded," said Rays President Matt Silverman. "This second half push is designed to get all Rays fans out to the ballpark for 'One More Game.' We're grateful to our partners WDAE and the Tampa Bay Times for helping bring all this together."
In their weekend series at Tropicana Field against the defending World Series Champion San Francisco Giants, the Rays averaged 28,700 fans for the three games, their best attended three-game home series since April 6-8, 2012. The Rays twice drew 30,000 against the Giants, running their record to 48-16 when playing in front of regular season home crowds of 30,000 or more since 2008.
"It does make a difference for us," said Rays Manager Joe Maddon after the Giants series. "I think we've entertained them very well the last couple games and actually the entire season, especially at home. It's great to see them out there. Keep on coming."
