Outfielder, first-round Draft pick three years ago, shelved indefinitely by team

MIAMI -- Outfielder Josh Sale, the Rays' first pick in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft (17th overall), has been suspended indefinitely by the Rays for conduct detrimental to the organization.

This is Sale's second suspension.

On Aug. 28, Sale was suspended without pay by Major League Baseball for 50 games after violating the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. He tested positive for methamphetamine and an amphetamine.

In two seasons in the Rays organization, he has hit .238 with 14 home runs and 59 RBIs in 134 games.
