ST. PETERSBURG -- According to a report by ESPN Los Angeles, Andrew Friedman is being considered for the Angels' open general manager position.

Angels owner Arte Moreno and team president John Carpino were reported to be in Florida this week to meet with Friedman, the Rays' executive vice president of baseball operations, along with Yankees executive Damon Oppenheimer.

Friedman could not be reached for comment.

The Angels also are said to be interested in Rangers assistant general manager Thad Levine and D-backs assistant general manager Jerry Dipoto.
