Rays at the plate: RBI singles from Jason Bartlett and Joel Guzman in the third inning helped the Rays get up early, 3-0. Dioner Navarro had a single and run scored, and Bartlett was 2-for-3 on the day with two stolen bases. Chris Richard had a two-out double, scoring two in the bottom of the seventh. John Rodriguez walked to score a run and Eric Hinske had a two-out double and two RBIs. The Rays totaled four runs in the inning to go up, 9-1.
Phillies at the plate: Jimmy Rollins started the sixth inning with a double to left field and Pat Burrell singled to drive in the Phillies' lone run.
Rays on the mound: Jeff Niemann made his second spring outing and the righty delivered a solid statement in his case for a spot in the rotation. He pitched three scoreless innings, striking out two and allowing no hits. After giving up a leadoff double, Al Reyes retired the next three batters in order in the fourth inning. Trever Miller was one walk from a perfect inning. J.P. Howell was charged with four hits and one run in three innings with a strikeout.
Phillies on the mound: Cole Hamels threw the first three innings, allowing five hits and three runs. Fabio Castro had one strikeout and no hits, retiring the first six batters he faced before issuing a walk to Carlos Pena. Castro allowed no runs in three innings. Carlos Carrasco was charged with five hits and four runs over two innings.

Matt Garza is scheduled to start for the Rays, while their 2007 top Draft pick, David Price, is slated to make his Spring Training debut.
